Hamlet: Hamlet's Hate For His Uncle Brought On By Ghost In society today one might look back on the time of Shakespeare and say how ruthless and barbaric people were in that time, not realizing that the people of today are just as cruel and unforgiving. Shakespeare's Hamlet is a penetrating portrayal of a young man overcome with rage brought about by his uncle. This deep hate for his uncle along with his inability to forgive his mother, and the betrayal of his friends later brings him to his own destruction. Hamlets hate for his uncle is brought on by a ghost. In the beginning of the play, Hamlet is visited by the ghost of his father who tells him "Know thou noble youth, the serpent that did sting thy fathers life now wears his crown"(pg. 29) These words tear at Hamlets heart enraging him, thus beginning the steps to his destruction. He vowed to avenge his fathers death, and would stop at nothing to take the life of his uncle. His uncle however is not the only one Hamlet has developed a hate for. He believes his mother played a large roll in his fathers death too. The speedy marriage of his mother to his uncle along with the words of his father"Taint not thy mind nor let thy soul contrive against thy mother aught"(pg.31) lead Hamlet to believe that his mother also had something to do with his fathers death. His mother whom he loved so dearly now becomes one of his worst enemies, destroying him even more than before. Hamlets mother, and uncle however are only the beginning of this emotional roller coaster, later he is betrayed by two of his best friends. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. two of Hamlets dearest friends betray him by turning him over to his uncle, who plans to ship him to England for his death, and further more are the ones to escort Hamlet to the ship. "will't please you go, my lord?"(pg.104) are the words of Rosencrantz urging Hamlet to board the ship, knowing full well that he boards to go to his death. This brings about the final chapter to Hamlet's mental destruction, and from this point on Hamlet cares nothing about his nor any one else's life. I am writing to ask the City Council of Glimmerville to join Sparkeville’s effects to restore balance back to our aquatic ecosystem. The City Council of Sparkeville is asking that Glimmerville support an plan (which will be outline later in this letter) that will deal with the over population of the â€Å"Grass Carp† that has invaded our water ways. As the City Council of Glimmerville is well aware our ecosystem has been unbalance for a while due to the invasion of the â€Å"grass carp fish† that was introduced in our aquatic ecosystem to handle and balance our the biotic (living) and the abiotic (non-living) parts of the ecosystem back to an equilibrium state. While the â€Å"Grass Carp† was intended to help control the overpopulating growth of the aquatic plants, not only did the â€Å"Grass Carp† do just that but once the overgrowth of the plants was taken care of the fish began to clean our  entire lakes of all aquatic plants, once all plant life was gone they moved on to consume the water ways detritus alone with animal matter. In accordance to a report from the Environment and Energy (E&E) Committee, the â€Å"Grass Carp† has been linked to the increase in pollution and the reduction of oxygen due to the feeding method and behavior and the removal of the prominent plants that once dominated our water ways. The elimination of these plants is the direct cause for the other fish which depend on the aquatic vegetation as part of the cycle of life to vanish from our water ways. What I propose are a couple of options that I strongly believe will help rid our water ways with the over populated â€Å"grass carp† and to keep our environment well balanced. Option 1- To reintroduce the water way natural fish back into the lakes and pond; next promote a campaign asking for farmers to reduce the current amount of fertilizers to slow down the growth on aqua vegetation, and lastly hold a ‘Grass Carp† fishing tournament offering various forms of incentives for participants, once the issue has been reduced to screen off all inlets and outlets to the water ways. Option 2- To eradicate huge numbers of â€Å"Grass Carp† with nominal cost and effort, we should take advantage of the Grass Carp fondness to assemble together each Spring in huge numbers in comparatively warm water ways preceding to and during their regenerating period. During the peak of â€Å"Grass Carp† regenerating period, we can position a extended seine netting that with go completely over all the crossways of the openings of the three water ways to put a stop to the â€Å"Grass Carp† from getting into the water ways. After the rivers and streams are cleared of the â€Å"Grass Carp†, we can put up boundary markers across two of crossway opening to avoid the â€Å"Grass Carp† from re-entering, and keep an eye on (monitor) the bottom food organisms, the clarity of the water and underwater aquatic plant above and beneath the boundary markers. Option-3 Because the â€Å"Grass Carp† will not feed in areas where there is a lot of human activities, we can hold boat races or swimming contest , only will  not avoid the fish from returning once that actives end. With the benefits being so great and causing no harm to any of our existing businesses, it makes good sense to join and support our effect to resolve the problem of the â€Å"Grass Carp† fish. Apparently, its structure is also not impressive in its built, but it has great strength and power. The holder of pen is always knowledgeable and learned man. He succeeds everywhere and his orders are obeyed. If the weapon of a warrior is a sword, the weapon of a learned and a commanding authority is the pen. Who so ever held the pen he would get the respect, wealth and fame, and he who left it, would become ineffective, unsuccessful and futile. History has proved that the pen is mightier. All philosophers, doctors, educated and wise men, scientists, poets, writers and engineers got their repute due to the pen. Their names are still alive today only on account of their books, theories, laws and their written works left behind them. Had they not held the pen in their hand, they would not have had education and ultimately their names would have been buried with them in the grave and remained unknown in oblivion. The progress of sciences, evolution, and advancement of the world at large, all is indebted to the pen only. The man invented electricity, ships, Aeroplane, radio and television. He is now commanding seas, mountain, rivers, air, water, fire, the Sun the Moon and the Earth. He is willing to go beyond the moon. The man had invented the computer, robot, and he has succeeded in inventing the treatment of previously un-curable diseases. The information technology has brought the countries of the world very closer to each other. The latest news of one end of the world is known to the other end in a fraction of time. All these miracles have been possible by the knowledge delivered by pen. Now some of us might wonder how the pen can be mightier than the sword. Yes! None can deny the sword has also great importance, because it is the next name of might and power. However, the sword can create havoc, spread a sense of terror like Changez Khan, and conquer the world. With the swords, you can only learn fighting each other. There are many other weapons of terror that has been invented. Now all the super powers have the atomic power, the most destructive weapon of the modern time. The holders of such weapons are supposed to be mightier countries. Now I ask my opposition to answer how the atom bomb, has been invented. In fact, this is the gift of science or knowledge whose alternate name is pen. This proves that the power itself is not self reliant without the help of pen. The power having no support of pen will never be effective, and will be weak and defenceless. I do not say that the sword and other weapons used are useless, but their use should be strictly limited to self-defence and for the ultimate benefit of mankind. It is therefore imperative that the sword is used for tyranny and oppression as well as implement justices. Whereas the pen whose second name is knowledge and wisdom makes the nation literate, cultured, and well behaved. The words from pen are always better than blood spilt out by the sword. We could express and convey our feelings of justice and peace through words of wisdom. Our thoughts and opinions, justice and belief, laws of human rights and humanitarian principles can only be written through the pen. You cannot enforce justice and peace through the mightiest sword. The pen is the pioneer of truth and justice, teaches us to help poor, oppressed and downtrodden. The rule of the pen can make the world a peaceful place and a paradise on the Earth.
